About the business
Our Space

A place to land,
right here in Leith.

Zen & Now grew out of a simple idea: that yoga should feel approachable, not exclusive. We're tucked into the heart of Leith, surrounded by the same cobbled streets and harbour air that make this neighbourhood unlike anywhere else in Edinburgh. Our studio is small on purpose — warm light, wooden floors, and a room where you can actually hear yourself breathe.

We teach yoga the way it was meant to be practised: without judgement, without performance, and without anyone telling you your downward dog needs work. Our teachers are RYT-500 trained and deeply committed to meeting you exactly where you are, whether that's touching your toes for the first time or refining a practice you've had for decades.

Why Zen & Now

All levels welcome

Nobody is turned away. Every class is taught with modifications and progressions so you can work at your own pace. You don't need to prepare — just arrive.

Your neighbourhood studio

We're a Leith studio, not a chain. You'll know the teachers by name, and they'll know yours. Small classes mean real attention and a community that actually feels like one.

Real teachers, real practice

All our teachers are Yoga Alliance RYT-500 trained and British Wheel of Yoga registered. Small class sizes mean you get genuine guidance, not a voice shouting over forty mats.

What clients say

I was terrified of yoga studios but Zen & Now made me feel completely at home from day one. Three months in and I'm addicted.

— Lisa K.

We started coming together as a couples' thing and now we're both doing the teacher training. The community here is special.

— Mark & Anna

The prenatal classes were a lifesaver. Fiona really knows her stuff and I felt so supported throughout my pregnancy.

— Priya S.

As a bloke who'd never done yoga, I was sceptical. Turns out it's the best thing I've done for my dodgy back. Cheers, Zen & Now!

— Colin D.

Common questions

Do I need to be flexible to start yoga?

Not at all. Flexibility is something that develops with practice, not a requirement for starting. Many of our members could barely touch their toes when they began. Yoga meets you where you are.

What should I bring to class?

Comfortable clothes you can move in, and a water bottle. We have mats and props you can borrow, so you do not need to buy anything before your first class. If you have your own mat, bring it along.

Can I drop in or do I need to book?

Both. You can drop in to any class, but we recommend booking online to guarantee your spot, especially for our popular evening vinyasa and weekend classes. Booking also helps us plan class sizes so everyone gets enough space.

Is there parking nearby?

There is on-street parking throughout Leith, and a pay-and-display car park on Constitution Street within a five-minute walk. The studio is also well served by Lothian Buses. Routes 7, 10, 14, and 22 all stop nearby.

What's the difference between vinyasa and yin?

Vinyasa is a flowing, dynamic practice where you move through poses linked by your breath. It builds strength and flexibility. Yin is slower and more meditative — you hold poses for several minutes, targeting deep connective tissue. Both welcome beginners, and many of our members do both.

Do you offer concessions or class packs?

Yes. A drop-in class is 12 pounds. A 5-class pack is 50 pounds (10 per class). Unlimited monthly membership is 75 pounds. We also offer student and concession rates — ask us for details. Class packs are valid for 8 weeks from purchase.

Are your classes suitable during pregnancy?

We run dedicated prenatal yoga classes taught by a teacher with specialist prenatal training. You can join from 12 weeks with clearance from your midwife or GP. Our prenatal classes are adapted for each trimester and focus on comfort, strength, and preparation for birth.
